As of 1999, this site is coming to you from my basement courtesy of the GNU open source software project and DSL. It is running on the Apache Web Server on Fedora Core 4 Linux using a beater former Windows PC. The Linux box is handling the Web chores and serving as a gateway/firewall for a couple of other PCs.

I created this site as a family Web page several years ago purely for fun and self education, so don't expect content. Every couple of years I try something new that catches my attention. In early 1995 it was the animated windsurfer (one of the early animated GIFS on the net). In late 96 it was the onmouseover light up bars over there to the left. When DSL reached my neighborhood in 99 I moved the Web site to a Linux box in the basement. The latest additions are a PHP gallery application and Snort IDS with MySQL/BASE. (running on another box). I am still waiting for some stunning Web content to store in a MySQL DB and deliver via LAMP one of these days.

I have started moving photos to "Gallery'" a nice PHP script for storing and displaying pictures. Check out Skydiving photos and videos, Jenn's art, Church Point photos and more.

Josh Heffernan is tearing up the charts in China with his new "Welcome to Beijing" CD. Check out his music video.

Here are some photos from a trip to the Kennedy Space Center to see the Endeavor Shuttle launch. The launch was scrubbed, but it was fun seeing a few days in the life of Ed Heffernan.

Check out a few pictures from our trip to Ireland in August of 1999.  See the house Mary Leahy was born in and the church Jim Heffernan was baptised in.

Family members and friends contemplating a trip out east should check out the Church Point photo gallery. See what fun you can have if you venture on out here.

You can also catch a few photos from Eileen's wedding. And finally - You should check out our first digital astro photographs taken with Jenn's homemade telescope.

Oh, wait. I forgot about Scuba Diving  - Check out some wreck diving photos from Door County circa 1976. And Jennifer Heffernan's old (grammar school) Home Page (includes a vanity photo of Jenn and me with President and Hillary Clinton)
